Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome Back Veterans Families to the 2019-2020 school year! Teachers and staff have been working hard and are eager to begin our new school year as a learning community. We have an exciting year ahead of us that will be filled with learning, innovation, and most importantly, FUN! We are thrilled to make this another memorable year for all, and we are extremely excited to be a part of it!
Veterans Elementary is the home of the Heroes! Our goals will continue to strive for Veterans to be a school where all students will be models of good character, embrace creativity, be voracious learners, and empowered to be confident and self-aware. Through our Veterans Virtues, students will learn about kindness, respect, honesty, compassion, courage, integrity, acceptance, and fairness.
Veterans Elementary will promote a culture where all learners will be unified and encouraged to be creative, collaborative, innovative, embrace inclusion, and develop a deep desire to learn. We are excited for all of you to be contributing members of our school community. We will strive to have parents and staff work harmoniously to create exceptional learning environments for children in a safe and welcoming environment.
As we progress through the year, the information will be sent home via parent letters/flyers, school messages (telephone and email), our school website, Peachjar, and information will be posted to our social media pages in an effort to keep you informed about student learning and activities. We will have Leadership Coffee Chats, ELAC, PTA, and SSC meetings where we will continue to keep you up-to-date with school events. In addition, we are committed to using some of this time to do school walkthroughs and hold parent workshops.
Since student success is the goal of every staff member at Veterans Elementary, we have set very high expectations and made plans to guarantee that every student will have a successful school year. The first few days of school will be an exciting time for your child due to the anticipation of meeting new and reconnecting with old friends. Please talk with your child about what he/she is to expect and help them sooth their first-day jitters by reassuring them about the exciting year that they have ahead of them.
We look forward to connecting with you and to a great year with you and your students!
