Welcome, Rogers Families
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. This is our year to SHINE!
This year we will continue to establish a school culture that supports each and every students' academic and social-emotional needs. Our hard work will continue to focus on highly effective instructional strategies for math and reading including collaborative conversations and Write Up a Storm. We are also excited to start our journey into creating visible learners who know what it is they are learning, why they are learning it, and what they need to do to be successful. The educational research shows that when students know these three things their achievement and learning increases. These strategies alongside our use of computer applications including ST math, Achieve 3000, and Smarty Ants will ensure that your student has a high quality, rigorous education that begins to prepare them for proficiency and their life goals. We will also be continuing with our Positive Behavior Support System (PBIS) so keep an eye out for your parent handbook. We believe that providing a quality instructional program accompanied by meeting the social-emotional needs of the students is how we will be able to obtain our vision of creating prepared, productive, literate, critical thinkers who contribute to a global society in the 21st century.
I am also excited to introduce to you our new Associate Principal Brandi Sheppy. Mrs. Sheppy has been at Rogers Elementary as our resource teacher for the past two years. She brings with her a heart for our Rogers Community, expertise in coaching and teaching, and a passion to see all of our students, staff, and families achieve great things.
