What is Safe Routes to School? |
 The Chula Vista Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program goals are to improve health and safety, decrease traffic congestion and pollution, and make walking and biking safe options. The SRTS Program includes 5 E’s: Education, Encouragement, Enforcement, Engineering, and Evaluation. |

Arts Revival is Boosted by New Funding Formula |
 CVESD worked collaboratively with arts organizations in development of the District’s Visual and Performing Arts strategic plan.The strategic plan positioned the District well for significant changes in public education: California’s new funding formula for schools, and new state standards. |

Technology Initiative: Ensure Every Student in Grades 3-6 Has Own Tech Device |
 As part of the District’s one-to-one technology initiative, more than $3.5 million was allocated to purchase and distribute Lenovo devices so that by 2017-18 all students in grades 3-6 will have their own device to integrate technology throughout the school day. This year alone, $1.4 million was allocated toward technology through our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). In addition, $460,666 was allocated to hire additional Technology Equipment Technicians to support each District school with infrastructure, wireless, hardware, and software needs. Visitor Management |
Our school district has implemented a new Visitor Management system. Volunteers who want to gain access to school sites during school hours will be asked to present a valid CA driver's license or acceptable ID card. Please call the school office if you have any questions about the Visitor Management system. |
