Executive Director Welcome Letter

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the staff at Feaster Charter School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school's website.  For over 65 years, Feaster Charter School has enjoyed tremendous success and has established many incredible traditions and legacies.  I sincerely hope you will take the time to look through our web pages and enjoy the numerous opportunities available to all Feaster students.  We believe our students' years at Feaster Charter will be their opportunity to be a 'Scholar and a Champion', whatever their endeavor.

Our goal as educators is to support all students academically and socially.  We will make every effort to ensure that all students become successful and literate members of society and be able to succeed in the increasingly complex world in which they will live and work.  The incredible staff at Feaster Charter School will continue to encourage all students to set high goals for themselves and to reach for their dreams. We are very proud of everyone's accomplishments through continuous hard work and dedication.

Thank you for visiting our website.  I am confident that you will be amazed and proud of being a part of the Falcon Family.

STEM Principal Welcome Letter

Dear Falcon Families and Friends,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Feaster Charter School's STEM Academy.  We have a lot of exciting things in store for students this year that will enhance their learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. By 2018 employment in STEM related jobs is expected to grow 17%, which amounts to about 8.5 million workers in the field and it is my goal to ensure that our students are prepared for those jobs.

Throughout the day science, technology, engineering and math are infused into the curriculum so that students begin to pique an interest and see the connections to everyday life that STEM has to offer.  Additionally, students have a STEM related elective daily for 45 minutes as well as take weekly classes from our specialty teachers in Engineering, Science & Technology in our state of the art labs on campus.  After school students are invited to participate in STEM related clubs including Robotics, Science & MOUSE Squad (student computer technicians).  Lastly, we are working with local corporations to form partnerships to educate our students on local opportunities for STEM careers.  We have worked very closely with Qualcomm this past school year and will continue our partnership next year with fieldtrips to their Thinkabit Lab.

It is my mission to expose our students to as much STEM related curriculum, hands on labs, and real life applications as possible with the goal that they will leave Feaster with a passion in a field that will foster their success in the future.

VAPA Principal Welcome Letter

Hello Falcon Community and welcome to Feaster’s Visual and Performing Arts Academy (VAPA).  At Feaster we continue to lead in creating and developing premier VAPA programs to meet the needs of our students. Our VAPA program provides a progressive K-8 curriculum that teaches our students the importance of art, music, and dance, while they develop their appreciation for the creative process. Students have the opportunity to engage in the arts in both their specialty classes as well as in their homeroom class.  During a typical school day, students use VAPA standards as an alternative way to explore and express a standards-based curriculum.  I believe this form of exploration and expression is critical in the learning process because it allows our students to demonstrate their understanding using various methods.  I am confident that our VAPA programs have contributed to our academic successes and outstanding state scores.  I look forward to supporting our students both creatively and academically in all of their future endeavors!

STEAM Middle School Associate Principal

Dear Middle School Parents and Friends,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Feaster Charter Middle's STEAM Academy.

Feaster exists to foster the academic, social, emotional and physical achievement of every student on campus. It is my personal belief that our students deserve every opportunity to excel not only academically, but also emotionally. Feaster Middle School shares this same belief.

In the short time the STEAM academy has been up and running, it has done an outstanding job in providing our students with unique opportunities through our partnership with the Thinkabit Lab and exposing our students to different avenues of higher education through our College Week (to name just two of the many unique experiences we provide for our students).

Our STEAM academy holds students to a high standard and develops our students into 21st century learners through the integration of not only the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA), but also Science Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) into the curriculum. Students in the STEAM Academy truly get the best of both worlds as they are exposed to rigorous curriculum through both VAPA and STEM classes and electives.

Feaster Charter Middle truly is one of kind. I invite you to come and visit our campus and see what makes us stand out from all other Middle Schools.

Our Vision

At Feaster Charter School, students are at the center of all decision making.  We prepare our students to become 21st century learners in a multicultural society by infusing Visual & Performing Arts as well as Science, Technology, Social Studies, Engineering & Mathematics into our daily curriculum and literacy instruction. This integration challenges our students to communicate and think critically, creatively and collaboratively.  By introducing the Arts and Sciences we are fostering leadership and reasoning skills, as well as increasing self-esteem at a young age to make a life changing impact.  The students who leave Feaster Charter School will be lifelong learners who are on their way to being college and career ready.
