WelConnect App for Families on the Move
The WelConnect app connects families to available resources and support programs provided by their school district, their schools, the surrounding community, and the US military.
Our school district has implemented a new Visitor Management system. Volunteers who want to gain access to school sites during school hours will be asked to present a valid CA driver's license or acceptable ID card. Please call the school office if you have any questions about the Visitor Management system.
Opt-In to Receive Text Alerts from the School and/or District
The District's notification system School Messenger sends messages via email and automated telephone calls regarding events, school closings, safety alerts, and more. In addition, you can also subscribe to receive SMS alerts (text messages). To opt-in to the service, text a “Y" or "Yes” to 67587.

Arts Revival is Boosted by New Funding Formula
CVESD worked collaboratively with arts organizations in development of the District’s Visual and Performing Arts strategic plan. The strategic plan positioned the District well for significant changes in public education: California’s new funding formula for schools, and new state standards. The Board of Education was primed for a critical funding decision in 2014-15, when it announced its commitment to hire full-time VAPA instructors and provide arts instruction during the school day for all students. CVESD made an unprecedented $15 million investment in arts instruction, spread over three
years. This also provided classroom teachers with release time for collaboration. The funding was embedded in the District’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). Learn how our LCAP helps meet student needs by clicking the link that follows
Technology Initiative: Ensure Every Student in Grades 3-6 Has Own Tech Device
As part of the District’s one-to-one technology initiative, more than $3.5 million was allocated to purchase and distribute Lenovo devices so that by 2017-18 all students in grades 3-6 will have their own device to integrate technology throughout the school day. This year alone, $1.4 million was allocated toward technology through our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). In addition, $460,666 was allocated to hire additional Technology Equipment Technicians to support each District school with infrastructure, wireless, hardware, and software needs. Local Control and Accountability Plan
The state’s new Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) replaced California’s finance system for schools. This means districts like ours will receive additional funding for low-income, English learner, and foster youth.
Common Core Curriculum
Today’s students are preparing to enter a world in which colleges and businesses are demanding more than ever before. To ensure all students are ready for success after high school, the Common Core State Standards establish clear, consistent guidelines for what every student should know and be able to do in math and English language arts from kindergarten through 12th grade.
